PEACE

Oil on linen 105 x 180 cm

Many paintings have been created in the past dedicated to war, but few have been dedicated to peace. This painting not only speaks of peace, but does so in the most profound and spiritual way possible. It seeks to introduce us to the true meaning of peace, as an ethereal and universal message.

The idea was developed vertically, on a canvas measuring two and twenty meters, and the painting was even painted from the bottom up, because the artist himself wanted to embark on a journey through this work, a spiritual path that begins from the earth, from the sad mortal condemnation, from human pettiness. Thus he begins by painting a dark scene of war, where flames blaze and ashes seem to devour even the air. Seeing this part of the painting in person gives one a sense of real anguish.

But looking up beyond the turbulent clouds of a dark sky, a female figure dressed in white dominates. For the artist, this figure is a symbol of humanity rising above chaos, above ephemeral matter.

The model in the painting sits in a meditative pose while raising her left arm, symbolizing the heart, toward a higher heaven, welcoming a message of pure redemption. The pose in the painting is somewhat reminiscent of the famous Statue of Liberty, not by chance, but because of the profound connection between freedom and peace.

The painting offers us a message of hope, hope in a world where light triumphs over darkness, but one that we can only experience if we can see it with the eyes of faith, starting today.
